Janet, who owns a website called CougarCandyStore.com is such a delight! She wanted to do something to reach out to all women but especially those who are 35 and over ("Cougars", if you will). I just love that term! A cougar is sleek, quick, strong and beautiful and I think that pretty much sums up the definition of a "Cougar" woman. Janet envisioned a place where women could socialize, support each other and make friends with other strong, confident women. Many visitors to her site sign up and become part of the exclusive "Member's Den" where lots of fun surprises await them. Let's see what she has to say.

Hello Janet.

I found your classy website recently and I love the uniqueness and excitement of a place where women can go to celebrate being women (of any age, but especially women over 35)! There is such a variety of information and each and every part of your site focuses on things that women are interested in (sex, health, beauty, gossip and budget shopping). You have so much to offer! I find myself going back at least every other day to see what's new!

Can you tell me your vision and what inspired you to start CougarCandyStore.com?

My girlfriends really inspired me. We are all now 45-50 and are starting to feel differently about life, our bodies, our relationships and our sex appeal. I wanted to create a place where a woman can feel sassy, sexy and classy. I do not like the porn culture in this world so I am on a mission to "BRING SEXY BACK". A woman can support another woman with simply a SMILE. I love that our writers really promote sassy, sexy articles and follow women who are 40+.

My personal favorite is Rita Lew, "Assertive Woman". Her articles are so much fun and empowering. Every woman on earth needs to follow her articles as she will inspire you and make you laugh.

You describe your site as a "Social Site Where Fabulous Women Can Meet Charming Men." What do you mean by that? Is it a dating site or simply a place where men and women connect online and chat and have fun?

It is not a dating site "YET". It is a social site where people can meet. Many women are looking for support and so we offer a connection socially. Also, it allows a woman to feel sassy and sexy and put on her smiling face. Additionally, I really like that women can RATE the charming men - it is so fun!

I see you have a "Member's Den" on your site. What does it mean to become a Cougar Candy Store member? In other words, what can one expect once they sign up?

The Member's Den is where men and women post their picture and then are rated on their SMILE. When signing up, the Members are asked to fill out a series of profile questions. These questions are designed to make each member's profile fun and exciting. Each member also has the opportunity to post a link to their personal site (if they have one). If a member (man or woman) sees a picture/profile of someone they'd like to get to know better, they can then contact that person via e-mail or instant messenger.

You mention on your site that you're married to a younger man who appreciates mature women (he's a smart man). Does he give you input and ideas for your website? If so how?

I am married to a man who is 10 years younger than me and have been for the past 10 years. His input is invaluable to me and the staff. His main idea was from a man's perspective and he felt that keeping a classy theme was important. He figured that many men would post pictures as well when they discovered it was a classy place to meet classy women. He has been so right on.

You have a section where TomKat (the expert on "Bad Boy Behavior") talks about sex and other subjects from a man's perspective. What a brilliant idea! How did you go about finding the perfect man for this task?

TOMKAT is an amazing man. He is a friend of my husband's. He is unique because he is a charmer and a bad boy all in one. He has been filthy rich and also lost it all and has been poor. He has lived all over the world. His stories are true. He knows women better than most women know themselves. Not every man can be a TOMKAT unless you have lived his life.

"Dr. Romance" has a column on your site and answers some tough questions. Her name is Tina B. Tessina PhD and she has some very impressive qualifications. Do you think that relationships between mature women and younger men have their own unique set of issues (whether sexual, societal or emotional)?

Dr. Tessina is an amazing woman who offers great, true, heartfelt advice. I think people in relationships with younger men make it harder on themselves by worrying about it. Just "LIVE" and let the future work itself out. I have been very happy for 10 years and don't see my self worrying too much. As a warning I do not believe that a 20-25 year age difference is a good idea. Women like a man who has also lived a little. Life experiences are invaluable.

I love the "Cat Fight" Section on your site? Can you explain what that is and how it's used?

That is a section for women or men to complain about anything. People have opinions and I certainly like to hear them. We will be offering special prizes for good "Cat Fights".

Janet, what words of wisdom do you have for women who are living the "Cougar" life (or might be thinking about it)?

Being a COUGAR is all about staying true to yourself. If you're over 35, you have lived, loved and have a great idea of what you want in life. Don't settle for unhappiness as you deserve more. Date any charming man who makes you feel sassy and sexy. Age is not an obstacle but an adventure!
